Paper and Plastic Cups Are Now Recyclable in Harrison County!

We’re excited to share that Harrison County Utility Authority residents can now recycle both paper and plastic cups through WM’s curbside program. This update is part of a national initiative to make to-go cups widely recyclable — helping communities like ours lead the way in sustainability. 

With upgraded recycling facilities and advanced sorting technology, WM is expanding what’s accepted in your blue bin. When recycling cups: 

1.  Empty all liquids
2. Remove lids, straws, and stoppers 
3. Place the cup directly in your recycling bin  

Recycled paper and plastic cups can be transformed into new products such as tissue boxes, corrugated cardboard, plastic lumber, and more — giving your everyday items a meaningful second life.
